Bloodhound
is peaceful and gentle, playful and humoristic. He is friendly with
people, although sometimes he might be a bit reserved with strangers.
He does not like to quarrel with other dogs. The most remarkable
feature of a Bloodhound is determination (one could also call that
stubborness), which makes him an excellent mantrailer ('will not
quit') but also a very difficult dog to train. In obedience training
and also in general one has to remember that you cannot force a
Bloodhound to do things. Bloodhound is very sensitive and is prone
to get mentally locked when trained by force - he won't do anything
for you then. The trainer has to use his/her imagination to find
the ways to motivate the Bloodhound do what the trainer wants. This
can be done!
