Fin Ch. Arciday's Heddi Wilden aka "Peppi" was born September 30th, 1993. She died in November 2004 at the respectful age of 11 yrs.
Peppi was my first bloodhound and she taught me the goods and bads of a bloodhound, well, obviously there are less bads than goods - that's why our family has grown with more bloodhounds ever since.
Peppi showed me that bloodhounds can do anything as long as one finds the way to get them do things. She grew from a somewhat timid dog to a confident grand old lady who not only thought she was the queen of the neighborhood (and she regarded the neighborhood quite large) but also loved showing, obedience (as long as there was cheese or liver available) and especially mantrailing.

Things that Peppi loved most: eating and sleeping - well, who wouldn't. Peppi had a low basso voice and was not very feminine, thus her nicknames were mostly masculine; Pertti, Pertsa or Pera. She was famous for snoring exceptionally loudly and hitting the lamp posts and trees while sniffing the ground and still heading on - she got totally blinded by her wrinkles when she lowered her head. She was also an exceptional bloodhound in the sense that she could be trusted off-leash quite well.
I’m sure she’ll be waiting for us on the Rainbow Bridge – standing ahead of us head turned towards us as if she was asking "well aren’t you coming?" like she always did on our walks when she was still here. Keep watching over us, old girl!
